the Trail

Think of someone you admire. What qualities make them a good mentor? How could they help you on your own heroic journey?

The trail is an interactive group experience with moviefragments, challenges, gaming elements, questions and moments of stillness and reflection. On this trail you embark on a 2-hour-quest to unlock all stages of the hero’s journey. (All 12 links on this page will be unlocked after registration)

This experience is designed based on the strong foundation of the work of Double Healix, ‘Academie voor leiderschap en levenskunst. This theory has been coloured by my own personal journey and the lessons I learned while recovering form a stroke in december 2016. The concept of STORY and storytelling changed profoundly after I internalised the change I wanted to see in my world.

Ordinary World

Imagine living in a world where everything is familiar and comfortable. This is where our heroes begin their journey. They have routines, friends, and a normal life. But what if something exciting was about to happen?

Have you ever felt like you were living in a routine and wished for an adventure or change?

Call of Adventure

One day, something extraordinary happens. Our heroes receive a special call, a message, or an invitation to embark on a grand adventure. It could be a magical object, a mysterious mentor, or a life-changing event.
If you received a magical message or invitation to go on an adventure, where would you hope it would take you?

Refusal of the Call

Not every hero eagerly accepts the call. Some heroes might hesitate or refuse because they are afraid, unsure, or attached to their ordinary lives.

What would make you hesitate or refuse a call to adventure? What fears or concerns might hold you back?

Meeting the Mentor

Every hero needs guidance and support on their journey. They meet a wise mentor who provides them with knowledge, advice, and encouragement.

Think of someone you admire. What qualities make them a good mentor? How could they help you on your own heroic journey?

Crossing the threshold

Now, the hero takes a leap of faith and enters a new and unfamiliar world. They leave behind their ordinary life and step into the unknown.

If you were to enter a magical or unknown world, what would you hope to discover or experience? What do you think would be the most exciting or challenging part of leaving your familiar world and entering a new one?

Tests, Allies, enemies

As our heroes venture deeper into their journey, they face tests and encounter allies and enemies along the way. These challenges shape their character and teach them important lessons.

How do you think facing challenges and meeting new people can help you grow and become a stronger person?

The Approach

The hero gets closer to their ultimate goal but faces a crucial turning point. They prepare themselves for a dangerous confrontation or a significant revelation.

What do you think would be the scariest or most thrilling moment on your adventure? How do you usually prepare yourself for a big challenge or important moment in your own life?

Ordeal

This is the hero’s greatest test. They face their biggest fears, confront their weaknesses, and overcome seemingly impossible obstacles.

Can you think of a time when you faced a difficult situation and how you managed to overcome it? What qualities or strengths would you rely on during a challenging ordeal?

Reward

After surviving the ordeal, the hero reaps the rewards of their journey. They might obtain a treasure, gain new knowledge, or achieve personal growth.

What would you consider a great reward for your own heroic journey? What do you think is the most valuable thing you could gain from going on an adventure?

The Road Back

Having achieved their goal, the hero begins their journey back to the ordinary world. They may face new obstacles or have a newfound sense of purpose.

How would you feel knowing that your adventure is coming to an end? What would be the most important lesson or realisation you would carry with you as you return from your adventure?

Resurrection

Just when it seems like all hope is lost, the hero experiences a powerful transformation or revelation. They rise stronger than ever before and face their final challenge.

Can you think of a time when you were able to turn a difficult situation around? How do you think going through a transformation or facing a difficult challenge can change a person?

Return with the Elixir

Our hero returns to the ordinary world, but they are no longer the same person. They bring back a valuable gift, knowledge, or wisdom to share with others.

What would you want to share with the world after your incredible adventure? What do you think you could teach or inspire others with after going through your own heroic journey?
