Storystrolling might seem weird at first if you are not used to reflect on your inner self or think about things outside of your comfort zone. But for me it was a match made in heaven. I got to learn about other peoples experiences and dig deeper in my own. I learned not to judge a book by its cover as the cover can be deceiving to ones eyes. It taught me a lot about being comfortable in my own shoes and to speak my truth. I learned to be a better designer because of it because it showed me how to actually listen and take information in. I recommend story strolling to anyone whether you are an avid self explorer or not. It truly helps strengthen your skills and i wish i had more time i could follow this! Thank you so very much for this amazing experience ❤️

I think StoryStrolling is a great concept. For me, self-awareness is a nice overarching characteristic of StoryStrolling, and in my opinion that is a characteristic that is far too infrequent in our society. Being in nature, making myself think using deep questions and then translating those thoughts into a valuable, unique vision. That’s what StoryStrolling has taught me. I recommend it to anyone who has the slightest interest in self-development, self-awareness, or even commitment to yourself. Go for it!

I think I have grown a lot as a designer during this first period and Storystrolling has been very helpful to me. At first I was not very motivated because I did not really see the point of it, but later I realized that the more effort I put into it, the more I learn about myself and others. As a result, I was able to delve deeper into my own process as a designer and how I have grown.

These lessons helped me with the project and ‘the White Cube’ project. Through Storystrolling I have come to better understand the importance of the people around me in a group, but I have also learned that I need to take good account of what I stand for myself and be open to other people. This improved my group process in the project group because after a few lessons I really started listening better to my group mates. I also notice that after the Storystrolling lessons I have much less tension when presenting, which has proven very useful for presenting our first prototype, but also for presenting the White Cube to a lot of people, which I could have had trouble with before. I think I have become much more conscious, allowing me to work more deliberately and thus grow as a designer in terms of behavior.

Through the Storystrolling lessons I now know what I need and how I can take my environment into account. With the help of my group, who can point out my good and bad qualities, I can pay attention to my behavior and motivation.”

I need to believe in myself. Don’t let others push you down! My foundation should be built on self-confidence and thereby have the strength to persuade.
For the first time in a long time, I really looked at myself. What do I want for myself? I’m so incredibly happy that I started painting again. I think now I just need to find a good balance between analog and digital work. I really want to pursue this. Hopefully, I can inspire many more people to start painting.

Through StoryStrolling I have realised that my starting point was not right. I was looking too much at others and did not walk my own path. … I walked together with my family and observed how they felt in nature. I saw my sons playing lion and monster in the grass, unleashing their imagination. They saw so much more than I did and moved so much more freely. They dared to go off the path, while I was simply following the route and looking for the blue markers! I decided to rediscover the child within me. … I decided to just START DOING. ~ Lieneke

For the first time in ages, I was able to rediscover my true self. Due to high work pressure, school, and a busy family life, I had lost sight of what brings me joy. I didn’t give myself time to reflect on this in recent years.

StoryStrolling helps you discover who you truly are, reinvent yourself and leads to positive development. Besides reconnecting with myself, who I am, what I want to do, and what makes me happy, this proces also inspired me to simply do what is necessary to become the person I want to be and the best version of myself.

StoryStrolling doesn’t adhere to a strict protocol but provides customised lessons that cater to each student. This leads to more diversity among future designers and happier designers because they pursue what they are good at and what brings them joy. All thanks to a method that encourages self-learning rather than learning what every other graduate already knows and can do.
